YellowTail Blue Damselfish



You located the YellowTail in the Western Pacific including Solomon Islands, northern Papua New Guinea, Philippines, and Ryukyu Islands. There is a doubtful record from the Great Barrier Reef off Cairns, Australia.

Three Striped Damselfish



Striped Damselfish is located in the Indo-West Pacific, Red Sea and East Africa to the Line, Marquesan and Tuamoto islands, north to southern Japan, south to Sydney, Australia. Striped Damselfish has color in life white with 3 black bars; a large brown spot on dorsal part of snout and interorbital; lips dusky or white; caudal fin pale; pelvic fins black; pectorals transparent.Territorial, inhabit shallow lagoon and subtidal reef flats. Form large aggregations above staghorn Acropora thickets or in smaller groups above isolated coral heads. Feed on zooplankton, benthic invertebrates, and algae.

Three Spot Damselfish



Spot Damselfish can be found in the Indo-Pacific, Red Sea and East Africa to the Line and Pitcairn islands, north to southern Japan, south to Sydney, Australia. Three Spot has a Juveniles over all black with scale centers bluish; white blotch on forehead and upper sides; all fins black except the transparent pectoral and outer portion of soft dorsal rays. Geographic and behavioral color of adults variable; no spot on forehead; spot on upper sides very reduced; head and fins normally black; scales with black margins. Margins of preorbital, suborbital and preoperculum finely serrated. Adults inhabit coral and rocky reefs, juveniles often commensal with large sea anemones, sea urchins, or small coral heads.

Talbot's Damselfish



The Talbot's Damselfish also known as the Talbot's demoiselle.Found swimming in the Western Pacific, Andaman Sea in the eastern Indian Ocean to Fiji, north to Palau, south to the southern Great Barrier Reef. Recently recorded from Tonga.

Smith's Damselfish



The Smith Damselfish are found in the Western Central Pacific, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and New Hebrides. Description of Smith Series of small blue spots along scale rows, especially anteriorly over the back. Adults inhabit live coral patches often in silty areas of lagoons and inshore reefs. They occur in small to large groups. Feed in midwater above live coral heads. 

Sergeant Major Damselfish



Swims in the Atlantic Ocean, Canada to Rhode Island, USA to Uruguay in the western Atlantic, abundant on Caribbean reefs; around islands of the mid-Atlantic, Cape Verde, and along the tropical coast of western Africa south to Angola. The major small description are greenish yellow above, shading to white below, with 5 prominent vertical black bars that narrow toward belly. A faint sixth bar may be present posteriorly on caudal peduncle; a black spot at upper base of pectoral fin.Greenish yellow above, shading to white below, with 5 prominent vertical black bars that narrow toward belly. Reticulated Damselfish



You can find this fish in the Pacific Ocean, Cocos-Keeling Islands in the eastern Indian Ocean to Samoa and the Line Islands, north to southern Japan etc.....Here is a short Short description, color variable according to ecological and behavioral conditions: basically body whitish with snout, interorbital and forehead greenish; black bar on anterior and a fainter one on posterior part of the body.Adults occur in outer lagoon and seaward reefs. They inhabit branching coral heads, particularly Pocillopora eydouxi. Form schools, often in silty habitats.

Jewel Damselfish



Jewel Dameselfish also known as the YellowTailed Damselfish Tail bright yellow. Juveniles dark blue with transparent tail and electric blue spots on side. Adults dark yellowish brown, the edges of the scales darker. The Jewel known to swim in the Western Atlantic Southern Florida and Bermuda through the Caribbean Sea to Brazil.A common territorial species that inhabits coral reefs, juveniles usually encountered among branches of yellow stinging coral, Millepora. Adults are found in very shallow waters of coral reefs, usually near top of outer edge where there are caves, holes, and abundant fire coral. Feed primarily on algae but also on polyps of fire coral and other invertebrate animal material.

Javanese Damselfish



The Javanese Damselfish also known as the Bluestreak damselfish. Juveniles with blue streaks but large adults are all black. Western Central Pacific: Indo-Australian Archipelago, including the Philippines, Indonesia, and Ashmore Reef.Adults inhabit protected reef flats of lagoons and inshore reefs. They mainly occur on current-swept reef flats in a few meters depth where it congregates in loose groups of various sizes.

Honey Head Damselfish



Found in the Indo-West Pacific Nicobar Islands to Vanuatu, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to northwest Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. Adults inhabit lagoons and coastal reefs, usually in silty areas. Max length 17.0 cm

Half-Blue Damselfish



The Half-Blue Damselfish is not really half half but is still a awsome fish to look at. Found in the Indo-West Pacific eastern Indian Ocean (Rowely Shoals, Scott Reef, and Ashmore Reef and Indonesia.Adults inhabit lagoon and near shore reefs, usually among branching corals. Found in small aggregation, usually with Acropora corals.Feed on plankton and other small organism.

Golden Damselfish



Found swimming in the Western Pacific: Andaman Sea and Christmas Island in the eastern Indian Ocean to Fiji, north to the Ryukyu Islands etc.....Adults occur in steep outer reef, occasionally in deep lagoons and along channel walls, usually in current prone habitats and where there are abundant gorgonian and long sea-whip corals on which they lay and guard eggs.

The Blue Devil Damselfish also known as the Southseas Devil, Village Belle, and Blue Star Damsel. Also known swim in Western Pacific, Coral Sea (including the northern Great Barrier Reef) to Samoa.Adults inhabit lagoon and offshore coral reefs. Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding. Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate. Males guard and aerate the eggs

Blue Green Damselfish



The Green Chromis, Chromis viridis, is a species of individuals tend to be apple-green and light blue, and reach a length of about 3 in (8 cm). swims in the Indo-Pacific, Red Sea to the Line, Marquesan, and Tuamoto islands, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia.Adults are found in large aggregations above thickets of branching Acropora corals in sheltered areas such as subtidal reef flats and lagoons.

Blue Damsel



The Blue Damsel it has other nickname like Sapphire devil.Indo-West Pacific: eastern edge of the Indian Ocean and Western Australia to New Guinea, New Britain, Solomon Islands, Marianas and Caroline Islands, Indonesia, Philippines etc....Adults are found amongst rubble and coral of clear sheltered lagoons and subtidal reef flats. They occur in groups of a male and several females or juveniles. Feed on algae, pelagic tunicates and copepods.

BlackTail Damselfish



It is also known as Four Stripe Damselfish, Blacktail Dascyllus, Blacktail Damselfish, or Blacktail Humbug.Western Pacific: Sumatra to Vanuatu, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Recently recorded from Tonga.Schooling species, adults inhabit sheltered lagoons, harbors and inlets. Also in somewhat open substrates with outcrops of Acropora corals .

White and Black Chromis



The Black and White Chromis as look at the picture you can see why they call it the Black and White Chromis cuz of its half of it body being only to colors. They can be found swimming in thePacific Ocean, Great Barrier Reef, and northern New Guinea to Samoa and the Society Islands. Adults inhabit passages and outer reef slopes, solitarily or in small groups. They are sometimes seen in mixed aggregations with the closely related species 

Allen's Dameslfish



The Pomacetrus Alleni which is commly known as the Allen Damself. This fish can be found in Eastern Indian Ocean: Similan Island, Thailand and has been Reported swiming in Indonesia. Adults inhabit rubble and dead reef of outer slopes and inshore areas. Usually in small groups along the edges of reef to sand.
